We would like to include you in our "church family" at First Christian Church. We believe that Christian life is joyful, fulfilling and meaningful. We would enjoy sharing it with you. To all who have no church home, or are not presently active in a church, or those who have not accepted Christ as your Savior, we extend God's call to become a vital part of the community of faith here at First Christian. We invite you to join with us in serving God in faith, worship and Christian service. Our congregation is self-governing and owns its property. We are a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and cooperate with our denomination fully in our Cluster, Regional, National and International ministries.
THIS IS WHAT WE BELIEVE The bible is our rule and guide. The Bible is the author of our faith. Individuals are responsible to God for their interpretation of the Bible and the practice of their faith. We believe in the supremacy of Jesus Christ. He alone is our Lord and Savior. He, as the Son of God, is head of the church. The Holy Spirit inspires us in faith, fellowship and Christian growth. We practice believers baptism by immersion. We observe the Lord's Supper weekly as an act of thanksgiving to God; a remembrance to Jesus as the Christ and his sacrifice. We invite all with us to partake. We believe we are not the only Christians, but we seek to be Christians only. We invite all to unite iwth us to build God's Kingdom here on earth. At every worship service an invitation is extended to those desiring to unite with us here. Members are received by; a. Confession of faith in Jesus Christ according to the New Testament practice and baptism following the example of our Lord or b. If you have been baptized in another congregation or tradition, then we accept transfer of membership by your word. We have a Dedication Service for children in which the parents bring their child and present them to God and then covenant along iwht the congregation to raise the child in the Christian faith so that at the proper age the child might come to receive the Lord as their personal savior and receive baptism.		Our Vision Statement INWARD: To grow spiritually as individuals, through prayer, Bible reading, self-evaluation and fellowship. To give by Christ’s example, expecting nothing in return. OUTWARD: To take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world. To witness our Christian faith by our walk and talk as individuals and as a congregation. UPWARD: To praise God in our preaching, in our singing, in our laughing and in our praying. To praise God for trials that strengthen us. To lift everything to God in prayer. To use our talents, great and small to offer the teachings of Jesus beyond our church walls. To grow as a congregation through prayer, Bible reading, self-evaluation, worship and fellowship.
